DESCRIPTION

International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC)

  • The practical competition will be shot under IPSC rules.
  • This event will be held in the following classes, however competitors may enter ONE class only-

o    Law Enforcement

o    Semi-Auto Open

o    Semi-Auto Standard / Production

  •  Any Semi-Auto pistol, having optical sights or a compensator, or both, will compete in Open division.
  • Teams of 4 can nominate, with the scores from each of the individual shoots being tallied to obtain the team score. At least 3 teams need to be nominated in a category, before medals will be offered. If less than 3 teams are nominated in any category, the team event will be withdrawn, from that category.

Australian Police and Services Service Match (APSM)

  • The service match will be shot under the APSM rules.
  • This match will be a 90 shot Service Match from 50, 25, 10 and 7 metres.
  • Competitors may use a different handgun for this event as optical sights are not allowed.
  • Teams of 4 can nominate, with the scores from each of the individual shoots being tallied to obtain the team score. At least 3 teams need to be nominated in a category, before medals will be offered. If less than 3 teams are nominated in any category, the team event will be withdrawn, from that category.

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • All competitors will be required to produce a current Firearms Licence, and a State Association Grading Card or SSAA Membership Card.
  • Club firearms, ammunition and other equipment will be available but must be requested prior to competition day.
  • Firearms storage can be organised by arrangement at their Local Police Station. Please advise if this is required prior to competition days. 
  • Anybody travelling to WA with firearms will require a Temporary WA Firearms Permit.  These can be found on the WAPOL Firearms Website. Group permits are free while individual permits incur a fee. Make sure you apply well ahead of time as they do take some time to process. This permit must be kept with you at all times during your stay in WA and you can purchase ammunition with this temporary permit from any dealer in WA.
